Seating at Phoenix Zoo – Phoenix, AZ
The Phoenix Zoo is a 125-acre open-air zoological park in Phoenix, Arizona. As a family-friendly attraction and event venue, seating is informal and dispersed throughout the grounds. Key areas include:
- Savanna Grill: Indoor and outdoor dining seating with views across the park — a comfortable rest stop mid-visit.
- Shaded Rest Areas: Benches and shaded seating areas are located throughout all four trails (Africa, Tropics, Arizona, and Children's). The Africa and Tropics trails are especially shaded and recommended during warm months.
- Private Event Spaces: Multiple indoor/outdoor event venues including the Safari Room (165 guests), Africa Trail lawns, and spaces accommodating up to 5,000 standing guests.
- ZooLights (Holiday Season): Walk-through illumination event with no fixed seating — comfortable walking shoes recommended.
Tip: We recommend starting your visit on the Africa trail in the morning when animals are most active, and taking advantage of the shaded Tropics trail during peak afternoon heat.

Parking at the Phoenix Zoo is FREE for all visitors. The main on-site parking lot is located directly adjacent to the entrance at 455 N Galvin Pkwy.

- Papago Park Overflow: Additional free parking available in the adjacent Papago Park area during busy periods (holidays, special events).
- Rideshare: Uber and Lyft drop-off and pick-up available at the main entrance on N Galvin Pkwy — convenient for visitors from downtown Phoenix.
- Public Transit: Valley Metro Bus Route 56 stops at the Phoenix Zoo. Connect from the Valley Metro Rail at the Tempe or Scottsdale stations.
